Arcadia Power will manage community solar customers for Summit Ridge Energy projects

Solar Power World

Summit Ridge Energy (SRE) announced  a partnership with Arcadia Power to sign and manage residential customers across multiple markets, including Maryland and Illinois, where SRE’s community solar portfolios are the largest within each state.

“Given the size of our community solar portfolios in both Maryland and Illinois, SRE needed a partner with best–in–class customer acquisition capabilities,” said Summit Ridge CEO, Steve Raeder. “Arcadia’s platform effectively utilizes multiple forms of marketing and has already produced outstanding results in terms of acquiring customers to purchase bill-credits from SRE’s solar fleet. We look forward to leveraging their expertise to expand our presence throughout the market.”

Maryland’s three-year Community Solar Pilot Program is approximately 193 MW in size, 60 of which are set aside for projects focused on low and moderate–income customers, while Illinois’ Adjustable Block Program (ABP) will enable the deployment of over 600 MW of solar power within the state and includes community solar projects that provide customers with savings through on-bill credits applied to their monthly utility bill.

SRE’s portfolios in each state will be fully constructed by the fourth quarter of 2020.

“The goal of community solar has always been to make solar savings accessible to all, but the sign-up process for homes and apartments has been anything but easy,” said Kiran Bhatraju, CEO of Arcadia Power. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Summit Ridge to bring hassle-free community solar to both Maryland and Illinois residents.”
