Leadership Team

Steve Raeder

CEO & Founder

Steve Raeder is the Founder and CEO of Summit Ridge Energy, one of the nation’s largest owner/operators of community solar assets. In his role as CEO, Steve leads day-to-day corporate operations, as well as development and execution of the company’s revenue generation strategies. Prior to launching SRE in 2017, Steve served in multiple roles at SunEdison including Managing Director of Sales and General Manager of its East Coast C&I business unit where his team's developed hundreds of MWs across multiple solar markets, including pioneering work with off-site “virtual” systems that transformed the company’s business model. Steve holds a B.A. in History and Business Administration from Gettysburg College.

Brian Dunn

Chief Financial Officer

Brian Dunn is a co-founder of Summit Ridge Energy and serves as the company's Chief Financial Officer. A member of the company’s management committee, Brian is responsible for all of SRE’s financial functions including accounting, audit, treasury, corporate finance and project finance. Prior to Summit Ridge, Brian served as Vice President at Hunt Alternative Energy Investments, the energy investment subsidiary of Texas-based Hunt Companies. In his role, Brian managed the company's investments in distributed solar and combined heat and power projects. Prior to joining Hunt in 2011, Brian developed and financed clean energy projects for a private equity manager and held senior associate and analyst positions at JPMorgan and American Express. Brian received his B.A. from Bowdoin College in Economics and Government & Legal Studies.

Adam Kuehne

Chief Investment Officer

Adam is the Chief Investment Officer for Summit Ridge Energy. A member of the company's management team, Adam leads origination, negotiation and execution of Summit Ridge's capital formation efforts, and oversees its community solar strategy and asset management function. He previously led capital markets for TerraForm Power and TerraForm Global, where he raised over $14 billion of public and private capital and led numerous financing, M&A and operational activities of the companies' 4 GW solar and wind portfolio. Before TerraForm, Adam was an investment banker in the Leveraged Finance group of Barclays Capital where he structured and arranged debt financing across the power and natural resources sectors. He began his career as an officer in the U.S. Navy, serving for seven years as a submarine nuclear engineer, intelligence analyst and electronic warfare officer in Iraq. Adam holds an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. in Engineering from The Catholic University of America and a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy.

Frank Griffin

Chief Operations Officer

Frank Griffin is the Chief Operations Officer of Summit Ridge Energy. A member of the company’s management committee, Frank oversees all construction activities across SRE’s project portfolios through energization. Prior to Summit Ridge, Frank served as Executive Vice President of Engineering and Construction at EDF Renewables where he helped grow the EDF subsidiary to over $100mm in annual revenue. Frank holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University and an M.B.A. from Pennsylvania State University.

Joyce Chang

General Counsel

Joyce Chang is the General Counsel for Summit Ridge Energy. A member of the company’s management committee, Joyce oversees all aspects of SRE’s legal affairs. Joyce brings extensive project finance and legal compliance experience to the team. Prior to joining Summit Ridge, Joyce was acting General Counsel at Ygrene Energy Fund Inc., one of the leading providers of residential and commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing. Prior to that, Joyce was the legal head of the structured and project finance team for North America at SunEdison, a global renewable energy company. Joyce started her legal career in New York and Washington, D.C. at Milbank LLP in the global project finance group. Joyce has a B.A. in both Economics and Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Cornell University Law School.

Kerri Neary

Senior Vice President, Development

Kerri Neary is Senior Vice President of Development for Summit Ridge Energy. A member of the company’s management committee, she leads development efforts across all markets, overseeing the permitting for construction and financing, interconnection process, real estate diligence, and environmental conservation. Prior to joining Summit Ridge in 2017, Kerri served at the US Department of Energy's Loan Programs Office, helping accelerate the deployment of first of a kind, utility scale energy projects. There, she led technical diligence and project management of non-recourse debt financing ranging from $100 million to $3 billion for innovative, renewable power generation, including over 2 GW of solar. Prior to serving in the U.S. government, Kerri worked as a process engineer at The Babcock & Wilcox Company, an international provider of energy products and services. Kerri holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University.

Mark Raeder

Principal, Midwest Development

Mark Raeder is a Principal at Summit Ridge Energy based in Chicago, IL. Mark leads project origination and acquisition efforts in the Midwest region for Summit Ridge. In this capacity, Mark is involved in all aspects of the project development lifecycle, from policy-shaping efforts and market strategy to financial modeling, land acquisition, power sales, and design. Previously, Mark was a senior sales consultant for SunEdison, where he performed financial, policy, and business development services. In this role, Mark led the first large-scale participation of distributed generation solar in a regional wholesale capacity market. As a co-founder and Principal of New Grid Energy Solutions, Mark also has direct experience with the design and installation of commercial PV, solar thermal, and PV-thermal hybrid systems. During this time, he designed and installed the largest solar thermal system in the state of Virginia. Mark is a NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional™ and former NABCEP Certified Solar Heating Installer™.

Jarryd Commerford

Principal

Jarryd is a Principal at Summit Ridge where he focuses on project acquisitions. Prior to Summit Ridge Energy, Jarryd held various business development positions at SunEdison. Over his 5+ years there, he executed over 100MW of Power Purchase Agreements in Massachusetts and acquired multiple large project portfolios. Prior to SunEdison, Jarryd worked in the electric vehicle industry in Europe and North America. Jarryd holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy & Entrepreneurship from the University of Nottingham in the UK and a BA in International Affairs and Geography from George Washington University.

Ty Holden

Principal, Corporate Operations

Ty Holden is a co-founder of Summit Ridge Energy and serves as its Principal in charge of O&M and asset management. In this capacity, Ty manages all of SRE’s operating projects throughout the United States. Prior to Summit Ridge, Ty worked at SunEdison where he supported the company’s east coast commercial business unit as Chief of Staff to its General Manager. Ty earned his BA in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar, and minored in Chinese Languages.
