Symbolizing the city’s dedication to clean energy and economic development
A Summit Ridge Energy & Trajectory Energy Partners 2.95 MW community solar project located in Peoria, IL.
Our Cameron Solar Project in Peoria, Illinois—operational since November 8, 2023—is a 2.95-megawatt (MW) venture spanning 18.92 acres. It features 5,088 bifacial 580W modules on a Single-Axis Tracker for optimal energy capture. In addition to its clean energy output, the project also contributes to local job creation and economic growth.
Its Single-Axis Tracker setup enhances energy efficiency by enabling the panels to track the sun’s movement, ensuring maximum energy capture.
Originally developed by Trajectory Energy Partners and acquired by Summit Ridge Energy in 2022, the Cameron Solar Project is situated near the General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport and serves as a visible symbol of Peoria’s commitment to clean energy and economic growth. This project was leased from a long-time multi-generational family of farmers and secured unanimous approval from the county board, making it a pioneering community solar initiative in the region. It was built with 100% local union labor, providing employment opportunities and contributing to the region’s economic stability.
